The Odisha government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved a significant salary hike for the personnel of the Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), aiming to enhance financial security and recognise their contributions to state security.
The latest revision applies to various ranks within the force, including Sipahi, Naik, Havildar, and Junior Commissioned Officers. Salaries for technical personnel in marine and mechanical roles have also been increased, ensuring that both operational and support forces receive the deserved compensation.
The monthly salary revisions are as follows:
- Sipahi (GD): ₹30,000 → ₹45,000
- Lance Naik/Naik/Havildar (GD): ₹32,000 → ₹50,000
- Junior Commissioned Officer (GD/Instructor): ₹40,000 → ₹55,000
- Technical roles such as Syrang, Engine Drivers, and Masters also see increments up to ₹55,000.
This move follows the recent formation of three new battalions, primarily comprising ex-Army, Navy, and CAPF personnel, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to security and governance. The enhanced compensation is expected to boost morale, strengthen the force, and attract skilled professionals to join the newly formed battalions.
