Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasized the importance of youth leadership and empowerment in nation-building during the 5th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.

The event was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Odisha, as part of its efforts to foster national integration and cultural exchange.

Addressing the young participants, Dr. Kambhampati highlighted the various initiatives taken by the Government of India to empower Kashmiri youth through skill development, education, employment, sports, and entrepreneurship. He underscored that the programme embodies the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,’ strengthening unity and mutual understanding among youth from different regions.

“You are not just the future of Jammu & Kashmir but also the builders of Viksit Bharat—a developed, inclusive, and progressive India,” the Governor remarked. He lauded government initiatives such as Skill India, Start-up India, and Mission Youth, which are shaping a brighter future for young minds in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Kambhampati urged the Kashmiri youth to seize the opportunities available to them and contribute actively to the nation’s growth in fields like education, entrepreneurship, governance, and social service. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their progress through various schemes and support systems.

The Governor also praised NYKS for its role in fostering leadership qualities and strengthening interregional ties. He encouraged participants to explore Odisha’s rich culture, history, and development journey, fostering lifelong friendships and meaningful connections.

The event also featured vibrant cultural performances, showcasing India’s diverse heritage and providing a platform for participants to share their traditions. The youth from Kashmir also shared their experiences. Principal Secretary to the Governor, NBS Rajput, delivered the welcome address.
