Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Empowerment, and Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reviewed all projects, both new and ongoing, of GRIDCO at Lok Seva Bhavan.
Odisha is making strides towards achieving its green energy targets by strengthening the state’s power infrastructure under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. A total of 10,960 MW of projects are being developed by GRIDCO. This includes 7,500 MW of solar projects, 2,000 MW of wind power projects, 1,200 MW of pumped storage projects, and other small hydroelectric projects.
Deputy CM Singh Deo examined the reasons for delays in these projects and directed that work be expedited. To accelerate progress, he contacted the relevant officers by phone. In a previous review, he addressed issues behind the delays in project implementation, such as land allocation, environmental clearances, and logistical support, which he also presented to the Government of India during his recent visit to Delhi.
The review meeting was attended by several officials, including Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, Vishal Kumar Dev, MD of GRIDCO, Dr. Satya Priya Rath, FA-cum-Special Secretary, Debidutta Tripathi, and Additional Secretary, IAS, Smt. Nibedita Mishra, and senior officers from GRIDCO and OREDA, as well as the Energy Department.
