In a significant development for Odisha’s coffee industry, Coffee Board Chairman MJ Dinesh met with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment, Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, at Lok Seva Bhawan.
During their meeting, various issues related to coffee production and market connectivity were discussed.
Present at the meeting was Principal Secretary to the Agriculture Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, who provided valuable insights.
The meeting focused on the expansion of coffee cultivation in Odisha, particularly in the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Keonjhar.
Koraput district has gained international recognition for its high-quality coffee, and efforts are being made to enhance its production and market reach.
Dy CM Singh Deo emphasized the importance of increasing coffee production, developing infrastructure, and opening more coffee outlets to promote Odisha’s coffee on a global scale.
As a gesture of goodwill, Mr Dinesh presented a coffee packet and a book on coffee to the Dy CM.
Also in attendance were Coffee Board Joint Director Shivakumar Swamy, Odisha Nodal Officer Upendra Kumar Shah, Coffee Board Member Manoj Dubey, and P.R.M. Ravichandran.
This meeting marks a promising step towards boosting Odisha’s coffee industry and supporting local farmers in their endeavors.
