The Odisha Government has deputed two senior officials to Telangana to support the families of Odia workers affected by the devastating fire at Sigachi Pharma Company in Sangareddy district.
The fire, which occurred on July 1, tragically claimed the lives of four Odia workers, left four others injured, and five are still reported missing.
The two officials – Dr. Chandra Shekhar Hota and Pritish Kumar Panda – arrived at the site and are actively assisting local authorities in locating the missing workers. They have also visited the injured individuals at the hospital to ensure proper treatment and provide moral support.
All the affected workers were employed at Sigachi Pharma. The Odisha Directorate of Family Affairs is coordinating with Telangana officials to arrange the transport of the deceased workers’ bodies to their hometowns and facilitate aid to the grieving families.
This prompt response underscores the state’s commitment to the welfare of its migrant workforce.
