Intensifying investigation into unfair practices during public examinations, the Odisha Police’s Crime Branch has arrested one more accused, Arabinda Das, aged 43, from Balasore district.

The arrest comes amid a crackdown on violations under the Odisha Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

According to the official press release from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Crime Branch, Arabinda Das, a resident of Nabara under Singala Police Station in Balasore, was apprehended on October 5, 2025. The action followed the discovery of substantial evidence against him, leading to sustained interrogation and the seizure of several incriminating materials from his possession.

The case stems from Golanthara Police Station Case No. 447 dated September 30, 2025, which was subsequently registered as CID Crime Branch PS Case No. 07 on October 1, 2025.

Following his arrest, Das was forwarded to the court of the Learned Judicial Magistrate First Class (Rural) in Berhampur for judicial proceedings. The investigation remains active, with authorities indicating that more leads are being pursued to uncover the full extent of the network involved in these unfair means.
