The Odisha Higher Education Department announced that the admission process for postgraduate courses for the 2026–27 academic session will begin earlier than usual.
Eligible candidates must apply through the SAMS portal by filling out the Common Application Form between February 27 and March 15, 2026. The Common PG Entrance Test will be conducted for various subjects from April 27 to May 10, 2026.
Admissions into PG courses will be strictly based on marks secured in the entrance test. Officials clarified that no other criteria will be considered for selection.
The department set July 10, 2026, as the deadline to begin PG classes in all universities and colleges across Odisha. Authorities emphasised that starting the academic session on time will help complete the syllabus as scheduled, conduct examinations without delay, and declare results promptly.
This move reflects the department’s effort to streamline admissions and ensure academic stability across the state.
