Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday to discuss the development of railway infrastructure in the state, a move aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving connectivity.
The meeting, which took place in New Delhi, comes as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its transportation network, a critical driver for industrial and regional development.
During the meeting, CM Majhi emphasised the importance of railway infrastructure for Odisha’s progress. In a statement released via the CMO’s official X handle (@CMO_Odisha), Majhi expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting, “We discussed key initiatives to bolster Odisha’s railway infrastructure, which will pave the way for greater economic opportunities and connectivity.”
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who has been at the helm of India’s railway modernisation since 2021, reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to Odisha’s development.
