Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday evening after a successful four-day visit to New Delhi for the NITI Aayog meeting.
On his arrival at the BPI Airport, the Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Govt Chief Whip Saroj Pradhan, Govt Deputy Chief Whip Gobinda Chandra Das and party MLAs.
Commenting on his visit to Delhi, the Chief Minister said, “By attending the NITI Aayog’s Governing Council meeting held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, I have presented the genuine demands for the development of Odisha. The first 5 years of the next 12 years of 2036 are important for us. Odisha is at the forefront of the Purvoday yojana of the Prime Minister.”
“Odisha will be the first bogie in the double engine framework that is being talked about. The Prime Minister is giving special importance to the development of Odisha. Therefore, all the proposals that I have made in the NITI Aayog meeting will be implemented and there will be a big change in Odisha in the next 5 years.”

Giving his opinion on the potato issue, the Chief Minister said, “I do not believe in writing letters. In Delhi, I directly discussed with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. During the discussion, the chief secretaries of the two states were also present. The situation has started to normalize and it will be resolved soon, the Chief Minister said.
Commenting on the Polavaram issue, the Chief Minister said that during the NITI Aayog meeting, he met his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu and proposed a CM-level talk on the Polavaram project to which the latter has agreed.
The Chief Minister said that during his visit to Delhi, he held discussions with Odisha cadre officers working under the Central Government and other cadres and Odia officers working at Odisha Bhavan regarding the development of Odisha.
“I have requested everyone to help the state in the development journey by setting up a ‘Team Odisha’ like Prime Minister’s ‘Team India’. They promised to cooperate with the Central Government for speedy implementation of Odisha’s proposals,” CM Majhi concluded.
