Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stressed the critical role of science and technology in propelling India to become a global superpower, urging students to acquire expertise in these fields.
Speaking at the SAI-TED 2025 science and technology festival organised by SAI International School in Bhubaneswar, the CM highlighted that today’s children will be the architects of a prosperous Odisha and a developed India.

“The development of civilisation heavily relies on science and technology,” Majhi said in his address. He commended the event for including not only private school students but also those from government schools in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, noting that it would foster their creative talents in science.
The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to establish a Rs 1 lakh crore Research & Development Fund, which he believes will enrich India’s research landscape. This fund, he added, will attract more students to research and enable breakthroughs in science and technology.

In his concluding remarks, Majhi encouraged the young audience to appreciate the contributions of Indian scientists to modern technology advancements. “Indians possess the world’s best intellect and talent,” he said. “Invest this intelligence in science and technology. With abundant resources like excellent teachers, the internet, and open knowledge sources available today, you can achieve a great deal if you set your mind to it.”

The program featured prominent guests, including Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson of SAI International Education Group, and renowned astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who shared the stage.
