Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced in the State Legislative Assembly today that the government has decided to constitute a high-powered committee to examine various long-pending demands of teachers, professors, and non-teaching staff working in government, aided, and block-grant (non-government aided) educational institutions under the School & Mass Education Department and the Higher Education Department.
Speaking on the floor of the House, the Chief Minister said that multiple teachers’ and employees’ associations have been raising their demands before the government for quite some time and discussions have been held on several occasions.
Taking the matter seriously, the state government has resolved to form a committee headed by Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Retired Indian Administrative Service officer, to thoroughly study all the demands.
The committee is mandated to submit its report to the state government within six months.
