The winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence tomorrow, running from November 27 until December 31. In a historic first, President Droupadi Murmu will address the state assembly on the opening day, marking a significant moment for all involved. President Murmu, who previously served as a member and minister in this very assembly, is expected to engage in discussions with former and current MLAs during the occasion, as informed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling.
This evening, the BJP legislative party held a meeting attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state president Manmohan Samal, state general secretary (organisation) Manas Kumar Mohanty, along with all ministers and MLAs. The gathering focused on detailed discussions regarding strategies for the session.
On November 28, the first supplementary budget will be presented. Dr. Mahaling emphasised that the party is fully prepared to address any issues raised by the opposition and provide comprehensive responses to all questions. Additionally, the BJP government plans to highlight all achievements of its 16-month tenure before the public during the session.
