The Government of Odisha has taken a significant step towards strengthening industrial development by approving new investment proposals worth ₹3,877 crore. The initiative aims to boost economic growth, enhance infrastructure, and generate large-scale employment across the state.
18 Projects Approved, Over 7,500 Jobs Expected
At the 146th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Anu Garg, a total of 18 industrial projects were approved.
These projects are expected to create approximately 7,565 employment opportunities across 11 districts, including Balasore, Khordha, Puri, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh.
Leadership Driving Industrial Transformation
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Odisha has adopted a result-driven industrialisation model focused on:
- Fast project approvals
- Investment facilitation
- Rapid on-ground execution
Over the past two years, more than 150 industrial projects have been successfully grounded and inaugurated, reflecting the state’s strong commitment to industrial expansion.
Focus on Core Industries: Metals and Manufacturing
Odisha continues to strengthen its position as a leading metal hub with investments in aluminium, steel, and ferro-alloy sectors. Companies such as:
- Runaya Eckart Aluminium Powders Pvt Ltd
- Scan Steels Ltd
- Jay Jagannath Steel & Power Ltd
- SS Alufoils International Ltd
are set to expand production capacities, promoting value-added manufacturing and employment generation.
Expansion in High-Tech and Emerging Sectors
The approved projects also emphasize diversification into advanced industries:
- Electronics manufacturing by Envair Electrodyne Ltd
- Explosives production by Solar Industries India Limited
These initiatives are expected to support innovation and create skilled job opportunities in emerging sectors.
Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Growth
Odisha is strengthening its healthcare manufacturing ecosystem with:
- Pharmaceutical unit by Harman Finochem Ltd
- Medical devices facility by Ambitech Healthcare Pvt Ltd
These projects will enhance the state’s role in India’s healthcare supply chain.
Sustainability and Circular Economy Initiatives
In line with sustainable development goals, projects like South Block Marketing Pvt Ltd’s recycling facility will promote the circular economy by processing plastic and metal waste.
Infrastructure, Logistics, and Maritime Development
Infrastructure development is receiving a major boost through:
- Logistics and industrial support projects
- Shipbuilding initiatives by Baleshwar Shipyard & Infra Pvt Ltd in Balasore
This marks Odisha’s growing presence in maritime manufacturing and coastal industrial activity.
Tourism and Hospitality Sector Expansion
The tourism sector will benefit from six new hospitality projects by various private developers. These projects aim to:
- Improve tourism infrastructure
- Enhance visitor experience
- Generate employment in the service sector
