Bengaluru: Rising Odia rapper Abhinav Singh, popularly known as Juggernaut, has been found dead in Bengaluru under circumstances that suggest a possible suicide, though authorities continue to probe the case to determine the exact cause of death. Local police have handed over his body to his family, who are now seeking a comprehensive investigation.
In a written complaint filed with Lalbagh police, Singh’s family has alleged that he endured prolonged mental torture by his wife and several other individuals. His father, Bijay Nanda Singh, has lodged a complaint against eight to ten persons, demanding a thorough inquiry into what led to this tragic incident. So far, neither Singh’s wife nor the other accused parties have provided any comments regarding the matter.
Juggernaut had carved a niche in the Odia rap scene with popular tracks like “Cuttack Anthem” and collaborative projects with fellow artists, including MC Tor (Tanmay Sahoo). His music, which interwove traditional Odia cultural elements with contemporary rap, resonated widely, elevating the local hip-hop movement.
The case also revives memories of previous controversies that surrounded Singh. In August 2024, Ollywood actress Supriya leveled serious allegations against him, claiming that he obstructed her music video launch and even physically assaulted her. That episode, coupled with an earlier incident at an OYO hotel in Bhubaneswar—prompted by a complaint from his wife, which led to the hotel being sealed—added to the growing media scrutiny.
As the investigation unfolds, police are diligently piecing together evidence to clarify the mysterious circumstances of Juggernaut’s demise, leaving the music community and fans in deep shock and mourning.
