The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) held a crucial preparatory meeting today at Barabati Stadium to ensure flawless execution of the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank Series – 1st T20 International match between India and South Africa, set for December 9, 2025.
Presided over by OCA President Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty and led by Secretary Sanjay Behera, the meeting focused on reviewing the readiness of various sub-committees. Behera stressed the importance of seamless coordination, strict adherence to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) protocols, and timely fulfillment of all responsibilities to uphold international standards.
Key attendees included OCA Vice President Jagmohan Pattanaik, Joint Secretary Prabhat Kumar Bhol, Treasurer Shri Bikash Pradhan, Apex Council Member Pratap Chandra Pradhan (MLA, Angul), CEO Subrat Kumar Behera, Former Secretary Asirbad Behera (also associated with Odisha Olympic Association and Football Association of Odisha), Odisha Olympic Association Secretary Avijit Paul, and former international cricketer Sanjay Raul. The gathering also featured OCA members, sub-committee representatives, and essential stakeholders.
During the discussions, Secretary Behera highlighted the setup of multiple integrated control rooms to manage critical areas such as security, power supply, medical services, transport, accreditation, hospitality, IT and communication, gate control, ticketing, floodlight operations, net practice arrangements, and overall match-day coordination. This comprehensive approach aims to guarantee a smooth and efficient event.
The OCA reiterated its dedication to delivering a safe, well-organised, and enjoyable experience for spectators, aligning fully with BCCI guidelines.
