Fourteen companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have arrived in Nuapada to oversee the upcoming by-election and maintain law and order.
Inspector General Himanshu Lal has taken charge of the range, stepping in while the Koraput DIG is on leave. Sri Rajesh Kumar IPS, ADGP (SAP), leads the overall security operations in the district. Authorities have activated 14 Flying Squads (FST) and 14 Static Surveillance Teams (SST), each equipped with CCTV systems operating round the clock.
Security forces have set up border check posts in Chhattisgarh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, and Bargarh to monitor cross-border movement. A special strategy has been drawn to counter potential Naxal threats in the Sunabeda forest region. Helicopters will transport polling parties to remote and sensitive locations, ensuring timely and safe deployment.
Critical polling booths, especially those in Naxal-affected areas, will be guarded by CAPF personnel and armed police. Senior officials including the Director General of Police (DGP), ADG (ANO), and ADG Law and Order have already visited Nuapada to assess the preparations.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to conducting a fair, free, transparent, and peaceful election. With comprehensive police arrangements in place, voters can expect a secure environment on polling day.
