Bhubaneswar: In a bid to constitute a selection Board is to make recommendations to the competent authority, in respect of candidates, the Selection Board for promotion to different Grades other than Group ‘A’ (Junior Branch) in the Odisha Administrative Service is to be constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary irrespective of the grade to which the selection is to be held.
The question of revising the existing guidelines on the constitution of the Departmental Promotion Committees / Selection Boards for consideration of promotion to different Grades of the OAS Cadre was under active consideration of the Government for quite some time.
Keeping in view the requirements of the OAS Cadre and the administrative convenience of the Government, the Cabinet have been pleased to approve the proposal for making appropriate amendments to Rule 7 of the Odisha Administrative Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2011.
