Tennis legend Novak Djokovic has parted ways with coach Andy Murray after enduring a turbulent start to the 2025 season.
The Serbian, who has not won a match on clay ahead of the French Open, confirmed the split in an emotional social media post on May 13.
Djokovic appointed Murray as his coach in November 2024, following the Briton’s retirement from professional tennis. However, their six-month partnership failed to deliver the expected results. Djokovic has struggled to find form this season, missing out on titles and facing early exits in multiple tournaments.
Murray expressed his gratitude for the experience, stating, “Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together, and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months. I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season.”
Djokovic reciprocated the sentiment, thanking Murray for his support and friendship. However, as he gears up for Roland Garros, the 24-time Grand Slam winner now faces the challenge of finding a new coach who can help him navigate his struggles on clay.
