New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar: An MoU was signed between IOCL and NDMC for waste-to-energy facilities in the august presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday.
This effort will be helpful for becoming self-reliant in energy sector. The Swachh Bharat Mission will also get a boost with the endeavour.
Pradhan has congratulated Indian Oil and NDMC for the proposed project and said the plant will be constructed at Ranikhera in North Delhi.
Energy will be produced from the waste materials from North Delhi areas, the Union Minister said and added that  recycling of plastics can also be done through the plant.
The Union Minister said nearly 2500 MT waste will be treated daily. He said this recycling plant will take North Delhi on the path of green energy.
The programme was attended by Lt Governor, Delhi Anil Baijal, NDMC Mayor Jay Prakash, NDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharati, IOCL Chairman S M Vaidya and other high level officials.
