Boudh: A nonagenarian woman, Kaushalya Bagarti (90), suffered severe burn injuries when her house was set ablaze by unidentified individuals at Mathura village in Harabhanga of Boudh district late Saturday night.
She is currently receiving treatment at the Boudh district headquarters hospital, with burns covering approximately 80% of her body.
Kaushalya was in a room when the fire engulfed the entire house. Her son, daughter-in-law, and other family members managed to escape and subsequently rescued her in a critical state after breaking down the door of her room.
The family suspects that the arson was committed by miscreants while they were sleeping. The blaze destroyed two rooms and gutted valuables worth lakhs of rupees.
