Nobel Prize winner and University of Chicago professor Michael Kremer met Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg today in Bhubaneswar for a constructive discussion on development and social initiatives.
The meeting highlighted Odisha’s ongoing efforts in strengthening governance and implementing innovative strategies for inclusive growth. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration to support the state’s developmental agenda and social progress.
Professor Kremer praised Odisha’s administrative efficiency and the scientific approach adopted in policy execution. He emphasised the importance of innovative ideas in improving welfare schemes and expressed interest in contributing to Odisha’s journey of sustainable development.
The Chief Secretary outlined the state government’s initiatives in agriculture, health, education, and social welfare. She stressed the importance of partnerships with global experts like Professor Kremer to strengthen Odisha’s developmental framework.
The dialogue also focused on expanding cooperation in areas such as poverty reduction, rural development, and capacity building. Both sides agreed that stronger collaboration would help Odisha achieve long‑term goals in governance and social transformation.
