‘No Accountability’: Rahul Gandhi Slams PM Modi Over CBSE Results Controversy, Seeks SIT Investigation

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing CBSE Class 12 results controversy, alleging “massive tampering” in the examination process and demanding an independent investigation into the matter.

The controversy erupted after several students raised concerns over alleged discrepancies in answer sheets and technical glitches during the re-evaluation process, triggering widespread debate on social media.

Rahul Gandhi Alleges ‘Massive Tampering’

Taking to X, Rahul Gandhi accused the government of remaining silent while students and parents across the country faced uncertainty over examination results.

“There has been massive tampering in the CBSE exam results, leaving millions of children and parents in shock,” Gandhi wrote.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, the Congress MP added, “No answers, no accountability, no shame.”

Questions Raised Over COEMPT Contract

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that the company COEMPT, which was reportedly awarded the CBSE contract, had previously faced controversy under the name Globarena during a similar issue in Telangana in 2019.

According to Gandhi, the company’s history should have triggered stricter scrutiny before it was entrusted with handling such an important national process.

He raised several questions, including:

  • Why was the CBSE contract awarded to COEMPT?
  • Were standard procedures bypassed during the selection process?
  • Why were past controversies allegedly linked to the company ignored?
  • Is there any connection between the company’s management and the central government?

The Congress leader demanded the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter thoroughly.

What Triggered The CBSE Results Controversy?

The issue gained national attention after a Class 12 student, Vedant Shrivastava, claimed that the scanned copy of his Physics answer sheet uploaded through the CBSE system did not match his handwriting.

The student had requested access to his answer scripts after receiving lower-than-expected marks in Physics.

After receiving the scanned documents, he alleged that the answer sheet linked to his roll number appeared to belong to someone else. He later shared screenshots on social media comparing handwriting samples from different papers.

“I studied for an entire year. I sacrificed sleep, peace of mind and everything for these exams. Now I don’t even know whether my actual Physics paper was checked,” the student wrote on X.

Online Abuse Sparks Political Reaction

Soon after his posts went viral, the student reportedly faced trolling and abusive comments online, with some users allegedly branding him “anti-national.”

Rahul Gandhi later defended the student and accused the BJP IT cell of targeting a teenager who was simply seeking justice.

“A 17-year-old boy asked for fairness and transparency but was attacked online instead of being helped,” Gandhi said in another post.

CBSE Clarification

The CBSE had earlier clarified that there was “no security breach” in the OSM portal and said the board was examining concerns raised by students regarding uploaded answer sheets and re-evaluation requests.

Officials have maintained that established protocols are being followed and necessary verification processes are underway.

Political Heat Intensifies

The controversy has now turned into a major political flashpoint, with opposition parties demanding greater transparency and accountability in India’s school examination system.

As pressure mounts, students and parents across the country are awaiting detailed clarification from the CBSE regarding the alleged mismatches and technical concerns linked to the evaluation process.
