Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived at Bhubaneswar airport on Thursday, ahead of a high-profile visit aimed at boosting infrastructure development in Odisha.
During his visit, Gadkari is set to launch multiple national highway projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore across the state. The projects are expected to significantly improve road connectivity, reduce travel time, and bolster regional economic growth.
Sources indicate that Gadkari is also likely to make key announcements related to new expressways, upgradation of existing routes, and possibly green highway initiatives aimed at sustainable development.
Senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), along with state leaders and representatives from the Odisha government, are expected to join the event.
The minister’s visit comes at a time when Odisha is witnessing major infrastructure investments, and the new projects are seen as part of the Centre’s push to enhance transport and logistics networks across eastern India.
Further details about the specific highway stretches, timelines, and additional development plans are expected to be shared during the official launch ceremony later today.
