Balasore: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids on the properties of the Deputy Collector of Nilagiri on the allegation of misappropriation of government money.
The accused has been identified as Parikhita Jena, Nilagiri Deputy Collector and former BDO of the Suliapada bloc in Mayurbhanj district.
On the allegation of misappropriation of Government money to the tune of Rs 1,01,03,215 of Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (OMBADC) funds without executing different developmental works in the Suliapada Block area during the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 by Parikhita Jena, OAS(JB), Ex-BDO, Suliapada Block searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance to verify the allegation and collect evidence in this connection.
The raids are being conducted in his Baligohiri residence and several other places. Six Teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising two Additional SPs, four DSPs, six Inspectors, seven ASIs, and other supporting staff engaged in the searches.
