New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has imposed restrictions on the movement of two- and three-wheelers and various other vehicle types on three access-controlled national highways connected to the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
This decision affects three major highways, NH 344M, NH 248BB and the Delhi-Gurugram section of NH 48.
NHAI has also restricted the playing of non-motorized vehicles, agricultural tractors, multi-axle hydraulic trailer vehicles and quadri-cycles on the said sections citing safety reasons.
The movement of high-speed vehicles may pose a risk to the safety of certain classes of comparatively slow-moving vehicles due to their vulnerability and associated speed differentials and compromise the road safety aspects.
