The Madras High Court has dismissed a plea requesting a re-exam for NEET UG 2025, citing that the power outage during the test did not warrant a retest.
Students had petitioned for a fresh examination due to disruptions caused by electricity failures in Chennai during the nationwide medical entrance test.
The court ruled that the National Testing Agency (NTA) had ensured proper exam protocols and that minor interruptions did not significantly impact students’ performance. Following the verdict, NEET UG 2025 results will proceed as scheduled, affecting over 22 lakh candidates across the country.
Despite concerns from petitioners, the court emphasised that logistical issues should be addressed at an administrative level rather than through judicial intervention. As a result, the NEET UG 2025 results will be released on time, marking a crucial step for aspiring medical students.
