India’s pride and javelin sensation, Neeraj Chopra, has confirmed his season opener at the Doha Diamond League on May 16.

Having made a mark at this very meet in 2023 with a world-leading throw of 88.67m, Chopra is set to enthrall fans once again at the Qatar Sports Club.

The 27-year-old, who secured Olympic gold at the Tokyo Olympics and a silver in the 2024 Paris Games, expressed his excitement about returning to Doha. “I’m always overwhelmed by the support I get from the Indian people in Qatar. The atmosphere here is electric and brings out the best in me,” said Chopra, who is now under the guidance of Jan Zelezny, the legendary world record holder in javelin.

Chopra, a trailblazer in Indian athletics, has established himself as a symbol of consistency and excellence. He plans to follow the Doha event with his participation in the ‘Neeraj Chopra Classic’ javelin event in Panchkula on May 24. With his coach’s rigorous training and the unwavering support of fans, the season looks promising for this iconic athlete.
