Cuttack: A Non-Bailable Warrant has been issued against MP Anubhav Mohanty as the actor-turned-politician repeatedly failed to appear for framing of charges in connection with the allegations levelled by Varsha Priyadarshini at Purighat Police Station.
The Court has ordered Purighat IIC to produce Anubhav and execute a warrant by May 23, 2024.
Earlier, Anubhav had failed to appear before the court in Cuttack on May 10 in connection with the domestic violence case.
The JMFC court had asked Anubhav and two others – Sujit Dallei and Khagendra Prasad Sahu – to appear before it while acting on a complaint filed by his former wife Varsha Priyadarshini.
According to sources, Anubhav cited personal reasons for not attending the hearing. He also sought more time to appear before the court through his lawyer.
The JFMC court had earlier dismissed his discharge petition and directed framing charges against him in the domestic violence case.
