Chhattisgarh: A Naxalite was killed during an encounter with security forces in the Amjhar village and Muhkot forests of Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district. The clash erupted on Sunday afternoon within the limits of Khallari police station.
The encounter broke out during an anti-Naxalite operation by security forces. Reports indicate that several Naxalites were wounded in the clash. Weapons used in the attack have been recovered by security personnel. Operations are ongoing to locate any remaining Naxalites and their weapons.
Earlier on the same day, two jawans of the CoBRA 201 battalion of CRPF lost their lives in an IED blast, planted by Naxalites between Silger and Tekulagudem in the Sukma district.
In a separate operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of fake currency notes and printing equipment belonging to Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. The seizure took place near Korajguda village in the forested hills.
