Naveen Patnaik, President of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), met the newly appointed office-bearers of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal at Shankha Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

Addressing the gathering, Patnaik said that the BJD remains the party of millions of mothers and women across Odisha. He emphasized that empowering women has been a top priority throughout the party’s 27-year journey.

“Empowering mothers and women is the true empowerment of Odisha,” he stated, underscoring the party’s long-standing focus on inclusive growth and social progress.

Mission Shakti as a Model for Grassroots Empowerment

Patnaik highlighted the success of the Mission Shakti initiative, describing it as a model empowerment program. He urged party members to continue strengthening grassroots engagement and supporting women’s financial independence across villages.

He noted that improving livelihood opportunities and protecting the rights of women remain core principles of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal. Over the years, the BJD has worked to transform women’s empowerment into a broader social movement in Odisha.

Call for Stronger Action Against Injustice

Expressing concern over increasing incidents of injustice and violence against women, Patnaik called for a more robust and united response.

He advised party workers to intensify efforts in safeguarding women’s rights, counter misinformation, and help women stay on the path of development and economic progress.

Party Leaders Express Gratitude

Biju Mahila Janata Dal President Snehangini Chhuria delivered the welcome address during the meeting. Newly appointed office-bearers thanked Patnaik for his guidance and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening women-led initiatives across the state.
