NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch, 19, suffered a broken collarbone after slipping from the top of his car during victory celebrations at Watkins Glen International.
Video on social media shows Zilisch losing his footing while standing on his car, falling awkwardly onto concrete, and lying motionless before being taken to hospital. NASCAR later confirmed he was “awake and alert.”
The series leader, who secured his sixth win of the season, shared on X that CT scans for his head were clear and he is “already getting better,” thanking medics for quick care.
Zilisch has been withdrawn from Sunday’s Cup Series race due to the injury.
