The much-anticipated Telugu-language crime thriller HIT: The 3rd Case (also known as HIT 3: Sarkaar’s Laathi) has dropped its Hindi trailer, giving fans a thrilling glimpse into what promises to be a gripping addition to the HIT Universe.
Starring Natural Star Nani in the lead role, the film is directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu, who also helmed the first two installments of the franchise. Scheduled for a grand theatrical release on May 1, 2025, HIT 3 is poised to make a significant impact as a pan-India film, catering to audiences across multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The Hindi trailer unveiled today showcases Nani in a fierce avatar, hinting at a high-stakes crime thriller filled with intense action sequences and suspenseful moments. The visuals are complemented by a pulsating background score composed by Mickey J. Meyer, marking his second collaboration with Nani after Shyam Singha Roy (2021).

Joining Nani in this action-packed venture is Srinidhi Shetty, known for her role in KGF: Chapter 1, alongside a talented ensemble cast that includes Adil Pala, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and Maganti Srinath. The film is produced by Prashanti Tipirneni under Wall Poster Cinema, in association with Nani’s newly launched production house, Unanimous Productions. Aditya Bhatia of Adwise Movies presents the Hindi version, with distribution handled by JVEL.
The HIT franchise, which began with HIT: The First Case in 2020, has carved a niche for itself in the Telugu film industry with its engaging crime-thriller narratives. The second installment, HIT: The Second Case (2022), further expanded the universe, and now HIT 3 aims to take the franchise to new heights by appealing to a broader, pan-India audience. The term “pan-India” has become a buzzword in Indian cinema since the success of films like Baahubali and KGF, where movies are released simultaneously in multiple languages to cater to diverse linguistic demographics across the country.
The journey of HIT 3 to the big screen hasn’t been without its challenges. Initially announced during the credits of HIT: The Second Case in December 2022, the film faced production delays. At one point, Nani’s 32nd project (#Nani32) was set to be directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainment. However, due to scheduling conflicts with another project, OG, the plans shifted. In September 2024, it was confirmed that #Nani32 would indeed be HIT: The 3rd Case, with Sailesh Kolanu returning to direct and Nani stepping in as a co-producer.
The HIT series has been a consistent performer at the box office, with the first film marking a successful debut for Sailesh Kolanu as a director. Kolanu, who hails from Chennai and has a background in filmmaking through his father’s association with Pratap Art Productions, began his career with the 2018 short film Checklist before making his feature film debut with HIT: The First Case. The franchise’s success lies in its ability to blend suspenseful storytelling with compelling character arcs, a formula that HIT 3 seems poised to continue.
With its release date set for May 1, 2025—a Thursday, which is slightly unconventional for major releases—the film aims to capitalize on the extended weekend and the summer holiday season to draw in audiences.
As the Indian film industry continues to embrace the pan-India model, HIT: The 3rd Case could be a significant milestone for Nani, who has steadily built a reputation as a versatile actor capable of delivering both commercial entertainers and critically acclaimed performances.
