Paris: Currently ranked second in the world for men’s javelin throw, Indian icon Neeraj Chopra has arrived in Paris in preparation for his event at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Chopra took to social media where he shared pictures of himself in the host city of Paris. He captioned it,” Namaste Paris, Excited to finally reach the Olympic Games village”.

The Olympic gold-medal winner in 2020 will be expected to defend his medal once again and could be India’s best chance at taking home a gold in the ongoing event in the Parisian city.
The Men’s Javelin throw qualifying event is set to begin on August 6 at 1:50 PM (IST) for Group A and 3:20 PM (IST) for Group B respectively. The final event will take place on August 8 at 11:55 PM (IST).
However, injuries might be a concern with the athlete withdrawing from the Ostrava Golden Spike on May 28 as a precautionary measure after a possible issue in his adductor. However, he was able to make his return with gold at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland in June 2024.
