Mumbai Indians (MI) have made strategic additions to their squad ahead of the playoffs, securing the services of Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson, and Charith Asalanka as replacements.
These signings come as MI players Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton, and Corbin Bosch prepare to leave for national duties after MI’s last league game.
English wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow joins MI at a price of INR 5.25 crore, providing much-needed firepower in the batting lineup. Meanwhile, English pacer Richard Gleeson will step in for Ryan Rickelton at a reserve price of INR 1 crore, adding depth to MI’s pace attack. Sri Lankan batsman Charith Asalanka replaces Corbin Bosch at INR 75 lakhs, bolstering MI’s middle order with his aggressive stroke play.
These replacements will be available from the playoffs stage onwards, should MI qualify. The team is looking to maintain its competitive edge as the business end of IPL 2025 approaches.
