MS Dhoni completed his drone pilot training at Garuda Aerospace’s DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization in Chennai.
Garuda Aerospace, India’s top drone manufacturer, confirmed the achievement on October 8, 2025. Dhoni, already an investor and brand ambassador, now holds a DGCA drone pilot certification. His move into aviation technology signals a new chapter in his post-cricket career.
The training combined ground theory with hands-on flying using simulators and real drones. Dhoni’s certification highlights the importance of safe, regulated drone operations. Garuda Aerospace has trained over 2,500 pilots and built 300 Centres of Excellence with academic partners to promote certified drone education.
Founder and CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash praised Dhoni’s dedication and quick learning. He said Dhoni’s involvement boosts morale and validates the company’s commitment to innovation. Dhoni expressed excitement about continuing his journey with Garuda Aerospace and supporting its growth.
Garuda Aerospace holds six DGCA approvals, including dual certifications for manufacturing and training. It trains pilots across small and medium drone categories and runs a “Train the Trainer” program to expand instructor capacity. The company’s Drone-as-a-Service model makes drone tech accessible across sectors.
Garuda Aerospace recently raised ₹100 crores in Series B funding, reaching a $250 million valuation. Dhoni’s certification adds momentum to its mission of transforming India’s drone ecosystem.
