In an unfortunate turn of events for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to a fractured elbow.
The announcement was made on April 10, leaving the team to reshuffle its plans mid-season.
Coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that MS Dhoni will take over the captaincy for the remainder of the season. “Dhoni was ready to take over and understood the situation,” Fleming stated while speaking about the leadership transition. The team is also exploring replacement options for Gaikwad but has yet to finalize a decision.
This sudden blow to CSK’s campaign will test the team’s depth and adaptability as they aim to stay competitive in this year’s tournament.
