Bhubaneswar: To mitigate the heatwave situation, the Odisha government on Saturday rescheduled the timing of classes for students from Class I to XII in all schools to morning hours across the State from April 2 for Summer 2024.
The School and Mass Education department has directed all educational institutions including government, government-aided and privately-managed schools to have morning classes from 7 AM to 11.30 AM.
Besides, the school authorities have also been directed to ensure the availability of safe drinking water, ORS packets and make other necessary arrangements for students.
The Collectors and District Magistrates have also been directed to keep a close watch on the weather conditions. They have been authorised to modify the instructions as per the situation on the ground.
