Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) celebrated their Indian Super League Winners Shield win at the Salt Lake Stadium, defeating FC Goa 2-0 in their final league match.

MBSG had secured the title with a win against Odisha FC a couple of weeks ago, but the win against Goa solidified their dominance in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The match saw over 62,000 enthusiastic fans cheering for MBSG as they set multiple records, including the highest points tally (56) in a 24-game ISL season, the most wins (17), and the most home wins (11). MBSG also achieved 15 clean sheets, further showcasing their defensive prowess.

The victory was marked by an own goal from FC Goa defender Boris Singh and a late strike by MBSG’s Scottish playmaker Greg Stewart in the second-half injury time. FC Goa started strong, creating multiple scoring opportunities but failing to capitalize on them. MBSG’s breakthrough came in the 62nd minute when a miscommunication in Goa’s defense led to Boris Singh’s own goal. Stewart doubled the lead in the fourth minute of added time, sealing the win for MBSG.

This victory reinforced MBSG’s status as the most accomplished side in ISL history, with fans celebrating their team’s successful defense of the League Winners Shield.

Match Result: Mohun Bagan Super Giant 2 (Boris Singh 62′- OG, Greg Stewart 90+4′) bt FC Goa 0.
