Modi Slams Congress in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today delivered a blistering speech in the Lok Sabha during the Monsoon Session, targeting the Congress party with sharp criticism over their stance on the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the success of Operation Sindoor.

Speaking with characteristic fervour, Modi accused Congress of aligning with Pakistan’s narrative, undermining the morale of India’s armed forces, and engaging in divisive politics to stay politically relevant. The speech, which lasted over an hour, captivated the nation and sparked heated debates across political circles and social media platforms.

A Fiery Rebuke of Congress

Modi’s address centred on the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The Prime Minister lauded the bravery of the Indian armed forces, particularly highlighting the success of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, which neutralised key terrorist operatives in the region. However, he reserved his sharpest criticism for the Congress party, accusing them of questioning the authenticity of these operations and, in doing so, insulting the sacrifices of Indian soldiers.

“While 193 countries stand with India in condemning terrorism, there is one party—Congress—that stands apart, echoing Pakistan’s propaganda,” Modi thundered. He alleged that Congress’s scepticism about the success of Operation Sindoor was not only an affront to national pride but also a dangerous attempt to demoralise the armed forces. Modi claimed that Congress’s narrative mirrored that of Pakistan, a country he accused of sponsoring terrorism to destabilise India.

The Prime Minister drew historical parallels, accusing Congress of a legacy of divisive politics dating back to the partition of India. “The Congress has always played the politics of division to stay in power,” Modi said, citing the partition as a decision that sowed seeds of discord. He further alleged that Congress’s past policies of appeasement allowed terrorism to flourish, contrasting this with his government’s zero-tolerance stance on terror.

Modi also took aim at Congress’s recent statements, accusing them of “importing Pakistan’s agenda” to score political points. He pointed to their alleged reluctance to celebrate the armed forces’ achievements as evidence of their disconnect from national sentiment. “When the entire nation stands united in saluting our jawans, Congress is busy questioning their valour,” he remarked, drawing loud cheers from the treasury benches.

Operation Sindoor and Mahadev: A Point of Pride

The Prime Minister provided details of Operation Sindoor, a covert mission that successfully eliminated high-value terrorist targets in Jammu and Kashmir. He also praised Operation Mahadev, which he described as a complementary effort to dismantle terror networks in the region. Modi emphasised that these operations were a testament to India’s resolve to eradicate terrorism and ensure the safety of its citizens.

“The success of Operations Sindoor and Mahadev has sent a clear message to the world: India will not bow down to terrorism,” Modi declared. He contrasted his government’s proactive approach with what he called Congress’s “soft stance” during their tenure, which he claimed allowed terror groups to gain a foothold in the country.

The Lok Sabha speech has set the stage for a contentious parliamentary session, with both sides digging in their heels. As debates over national security and governance intensify, Modi’s remarks are likely to dominate political discourse in the coming weeks.

For now, the Prime Minister’s fiery address has once again underscored the deep political divide in India, with national pride and security at the heart of the battle.
