Modi Extends Eid & Nowruz Greetings to Iran President, Urges West Asia Peace

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday, extending warm greetings on the occasions of Eid and Nowruz while discussing ways to promote peace and stability in the West Asia region.


According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the leaders expressed their shared hope that the festive season would usher in an era of peace, stability, and prosperity across West Asia. The conversation came at a time of heightened regional developments.

Prime Minister Modi strongly condemned recent attacks on critical infrastructure in the region. He noted that such actions not only threaten regional stability but also disrupt vital global supply chains. Both leaders underscored the critical importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and keeping international shipping lanes open and secure for global trade.

The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for Iran’s continued support in ensuring the safety and security of Indian nationals living in the country. The discussion further touched upon strengthening bilateral cooperation between India and Iran.

Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote:
