Odisha witnessed a powerful demonstration of unity and respect as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined the Sindoor Yatra, organised by Mission Shakti.

This grand procession, held in Bhubaneswar, marked the triumph of Operation Sindoor, symbolising bravery, sacrifice, and the unwavering strength of the Indian armed forces.

Thousands of women from across the state participated in the procession, which commenced at Master Canteen Square and concluded at Rama Devi University.

The event highlighted the significance of Sindoor, not just as a cultural ornament but as a symbol of commitment, strength, and victory.

During his address, Chief Minister Majhi emphasised the profound meaning behind the colour red in Sindoor. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sentiment that the red streak represents protection for families and signals both danger for adversaries and victory for India. He further acknowledged the valiant spirit of Indian women and soldiers, noting that their courage and perseverance inspire generations.

Lieutenant Commander Ananya Dalbehera of the Indian Navy and Priyadarshini Acharya, wife of martyred soldier Prashant Satpathy, graced the event. Their presence added emotional depth to the occasion and reinforced the significance of sacrifice and patriotism.

Mission Shakti, Odisha’s flagship initiative for women’s empowerment, played a pivotal role in organising the event, ensuring the participation of thousands of women. The Yatra honoured the armed forces’ contributions and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening women’s leadership in all domains.

A March Beyond Celebration

The Sindoor Yatra was not merely a procession; it was a symbolic pledge—a commitment to protect the nation, uplift women, and celebrate the courage of its defenders.

Odisha continues to lead the way in championing women’s empowerment, ensuring that their strength and resilience remain at the forefront of progress.
