In a deeply disturbing incident, the Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur district has witnessed yet another case of sexual violence against a minor girl.
The girl was reportedly raped and impregnated by two brothers — Bhagyadhar Das and Panchanan Das — over the course of nearly a year.
The victim’s father lodged a formal complaint, following which Kujang Police registered Case No. 275/25 under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act. The minor, presently 6-7 months pregnant, has undergone medical examination at the District Headquarters Hospital.
The complaint alleges that the accused brothers routinely assaulted the girl and tried to conceal the matter with bribes. When the victim’s family refused, they were allegedly threatened with murder.
