A migrant worker from Nuapada village in Bolangir district has gone missing after traveling to Mehbubnagar, Telangana, for work.
The youth, identified as Nepal Pattnaik (27), was taken by a local contractor to work at a brick kiln on September 5. He maintained regular contact with his family until September 24, but has since disappeared.
Nepal informed his family that he was assigned work at a kiln and would return after a month. However, when fellow villagers working in the same area returned, they had no information about his whereabouts. Attempts to reach him by phone failed, raising concerns among his family.
The contractor who arranged Nepal’s employment returned to the village but did not provide any updates. Family members approached the Muribahal police station, but alleged that they were met with indifference. Frustrated by the lack of response, they sought help directly from the Bolangir Superintendent of Police.
Nepal’s family fears something may have gone wrong at the worksite. They remain unaware of his current location or condition and have made an emotional appeal to authorities for assistance in tracing him.
