A major fire erupted Thursday morning at the JMS Business Centre, a multi-storey commercial building located on SV Road near Mahatma Gandhi School in Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
The blaze reportedly began around 10:50 am on the upper floors, prompting an immediate response from the fire department.
Firefighters rushed to the scene with multiple fire tenders and launched a high-intensity operation using aerial ladders to contain the flames. Visuals from the site showed thick smoke billowing from the building as teams worked to douse the fire.
Authorities have not reported any injuries so far. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
This incident comes just two days after a tragic fire in Navi Mumbai’s Raheja Residency Society claimed the lives of four family members, including a six-year-old girl. That fire, which broke out around 12:40 am, took nearly four hours to extinguish and affected at least three floors of the residential building.
The back-to-back fire incidents have raised concerns about fire safety preparedness in high-rise structures across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Officials are expected to conduct safety audits and review emergency response protocols in the coming days.
