A catastrophic fire erupted on Monday at a private company’s stockyard near Zero Point in Paradip, Jagatsinghpur district.
The blaze consumed a significant number of plastic-coated iron pipes, reportedly intended for transporting liquid petroleum products underground. Over ten firefighting vehicles were deployed to contain the flames.
Local authorities confirmed the situation is under control, though efforts to extinguish the fire completely are ongoing. “The cause of the inferno remains unknown, but a thorough investigation is underway,” stated a Paradip Sub-Collector.
With black smoke billowing into the sky, panic gripped nearby areas, prompting swift actions from officials to ensure public safety. No statement has yet been released by the company involved.
This incident follows a recent fire in Cuttack’s bustling Dolamundai locality, raising concerns about fire safety protocols in the region.
