A tragic incident has come to light from the Pattamundai Rural Police Station area, where a married man was arrested for trapping a 16-year-old minor girl in a romantic relationship under the pretense of marriage, leading to her seven-month pregnancy before abandoning her.
According to police sources, the accused established a physical relationship with the minor after repeatedly promising to marry her. When the girl subsequently became seven months pregnant, the man refused to honor his commitment and cheated her.
Left with no alternative, the victim, accompanied by her family members, approached the Pattamundai Rural Police Station and lodged a formal written complaint against the accused lover.
Following the complaint, the police conducted a medical examination of the victim and registered Case No. 483/26. Considering the sensitive nature of the case, police promptly arrested the accused young man and forwarded him to court today.
