In a devastating accident on the Sonepur-Balangir road near Haradkhol, two individuals lost their lives, and eight others were critically injured when a vehicle carrying a marriage band party overturned.
The vehicle, transporting approximately 25 passengers from Manmunda to Kalahandi, reportedly lost control, leading to the crash.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, using cutting equipment to rescue trapped passengers. While two victims succumbed to their injuries immediately, the injured were rushed to Sonepur Medical College and Hospital for urgent treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Local police have stated that the deceased and injured hail from the Tura area in Bargarh, and efforts are being made to provide assistance to the families affected by the tragedy.
