In the 121st episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation with a powerful message against terrorism, following the tragic Pahalgam attack.
He began by highlighting Kashmir’s journey towards peace, noting the increasing number of tourists and rapid development progress in the region. However, he pointed out that enemies of Kashmir’s prosperity attempted once again to disrupt its growth through violence.
Expressing deep sorrow over the April 22 terrorist attack that claimed many lives, PM Modi said the images from the incident had left every citizen both angry and heartbroken. He emphasized that the attack reflected the terrorists’ desperation in the face of Kashmir’s returning normalcy and stressed that unity among all citizens is essential to defeating terrorism.
The Prime Minister revealed that leaders from across the world had reached out with calls, letters, and messages condemning the attack. “In India’s fight against terrorism, 1.4 billion Indians have the unwavering support of the entire world,” he stated. Assuring the victims’ families of justice, PM Modi vowed that the perpetrators and their masterminds would face the strictest punishment.
“Today, the world is watching, and after this terrorist attack, the entire country is speaking in one voice. The outrage felt in India is shared across the globe,” PM Modi said.
Shifting his focus to disaster management, the Prime Minister also introduced a new mobile application named ‘Sachet,’ developed by the National Disaster Management Authority of India. Designed to help citizens stay alert during natural disasters, the ‘Sachet’ app aims to enhance public safety and preparedness.
The address served as a reflection of India’s resolve against terrorism and its growing emphasis on disaster resilience.
