In a significant move to strengthen coordination and address constituency-level challenges, BJP Odisha State President Manmohan Samal held a marathon four-hour meeting with party MPs in Delhi on Tuesday evening.
The meeting, held at the residence of a party MP from 5 PM to 9 PM, saw the participation of 18 MPs, along with the state in-charge and organizational secretary. The discussion centered on critical issues affecting parliamentary constituencies, development projects, and the fulfillment of promises made to constituents.
During the meeting, MPs provided detailed feedback to Samal, highlighting administrative and developmental challenges in their constituencies. Key concerns included a lack of coordination with local officials and delays in development projects, particularly in areas where BJP lacks elected MLAs. In such constituencies, MPs noted that opposition MLAs often hinder collaborative efforts, stalling critical infrastructure projects like railway land acquisition, new airports, traffic management in major cities, and bypass construction to reduce accidents on national highways.
Samal urged MPs to prioritize coordination with opposition MLAs to ensure seamless development and emphasized the importance of fulfilling promises made to voters. He assured the MPs that their concerns were noted and that steps would be taken to address these issues, ensuring development projects progress without delays. The MPs expressed gratitude to the President, Chief Minister, and State President for fulfilling several promises while pressing for action on pending commitments.
Specific demands raised by MPs included expediting land acquisition for railway projects, constructing new airports, implementing traffic control measures in urban areas, and building bypasses to enhance road safety. These initiatives, they argued, would bolster public trust in the BJP government.
This meeting underscores the party’s commitment to addressing grassroots issues and accelerating Odisha’s overall development. By fostering collaboration and resolving coordination gaps, the BJP aims to strengthen its connect with voters and deliver on its developmental agenda.
