Laxminarayan Paikarai, also known as Kuna, a notorious criminal with a history of offenses, was shot dead near Patharpalli village under the jurisdiction of Kabisuryanagar Police Station.
The incident took place while Kuna was returning to his village, Athagarhpatna, on a motorcycle.
The attack occurred near a chicken farm, where unknown assailants ambushed Kuna and fatally shot him in the head. Local police suspect the murder may be a result of lingering enmities from his criminal past. Despite multiple cases registered against him in the past, Kuna was reportedly on a journey to reform and rejoin society.
The police have sent Kuna’s body to Kabisuryanagar hospital for a post-mortem examination and have launched a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrators and uncover the motive behind this crime.
This incident underscores the challenges faced by those attempting to distance themselves from a troubled history, as past actions often come with lasting repercussions.
